One of the most beautiful surprises of building a photography business is how deeply woven some clients become in your life story.
A few months ago, I had the absolute joy of joining Patricia Benitez, a former senior client and now podcast host, on her show Interesting People. If you’ve been to my website, you’ve seen her. She’s the Home Page cover girl and her senior session was one of the first that really caught fire and started gaining attention for my work.
But it goes deeper than that. Her mom helped me buy my very first home as a single woman. This family has been part of my story in more ways than one, and sitting down for this conversation felt like a true full-circle moment.
The episode is titled “Keep It Whimsical: On Reinvention, Dating in Your 50s, and the Magic of Everyday Joy.” Which (let’s be honest) might be the most accurate description of my recent life in one sentence.
During our chat, we covered:
It was real, warm, occasionally hilarious, and deeply meaningful.
This wasn’t just another interview. It was a layered, reflective, joy-filled conversation with someone who’s seen my business (and me) grow from the ground up. We talked about confidence, creativity, reinvention, and how you hold onto yourself when everything around you is shifting. And we did it all with a little sparkle and a lot of honesty.

Whether you’re a fellow creative, a longtime client, or someone navigating your own chapter of reinvention…I hope you’ll tune in. I think there’s something in it for all of us.

If you’ve been thinking about shaking things up, chasing something new, or simply finding your way back to what lights you up, I’d love to hear your story. Or better yet? Let’s create something whimsical together.📩 Reach out here to start your own chapter. And make sure you follow Interesting People on IG. She’s got a whole line up of folks coming.
